Fooled by Patriotism


One of our flaws, as human beings, is our assumption that what we know is the best there is to know; what we have is the best there is to have; and what we do is the best there is to be done.

Given the opportunity, the majority of the people in any given country would bet with their lives that their country is the best country in the world. Even people who never had a passport.

(Unless you’ve died before, it is foolish for you to assert that life is better than death.)
