The Cycle of Freedom
An orthodox man and an orthodox woman meet.
After a few months, weeks, days, or minutes, of promising forever … they have sex.
Months later, generally nine, an unorthodox offspring springs.
The man and the woman then choose a name for the offspring. And, inevitably, with the greatest obliviousness and subtlety, they coerce their beliefs on the poor kid.
The kid had no choice over her name, and, on who to call God.
The kid grows into an orthodox grown-up. She meets an orthodox lover. After a few months of promising each other forever, the offsprings bring an offspring to being.
It’s only then that they have the freedom to choose a name and beliefs. But the kids, now turned parents, only have the freedom to choose for their kid, not themselves.
(To have the freedom to choose a name, their kid will have to have a kid.)
