The Sender and the Sent
The author of a book does not matter as much as the contents of the book.
If he writes a funny book, I too will laugh; whether or not I knew who wrote the book.
It’s cases like, “Would you marry me?”, that the sender and the sent matters equally.
For a woman that is ready, or desperate, for marriage might like being proposed to; but not like the person doing the proposing. Interesting message, boring messenger.
(If replacing the messenger does not change what the message conveys, or means, then the messenger is of a lesser importance, … when compared to the message.)
